Controlled Articular Rotations Directing Recovery

by | Aug 7, 2018

Today, I wanted to share a short video from my recent resource, Recovery for Baseball: key concepts, thoughts, and practical applications. In it, I discuss how Controlled Articular Rotations, or CARs for short, can help dictate an athlete’s recovery routine.
On the key components that we see players and coaches neglect in the recovery process is appropriately checking in on how their joints and range of motion are doing. Collectively, we do a good job of thinking about restoring nutrients, fluids, and strength but oftentimes don’t take into consideration the quality and quantity of joint movement. Taking a ‘joint inventory’ on the day day after throwing keeps us honest about how we’re doing and guides us to better protocols in the recovery process.
